What people have said about us: The Gorse Hall Centenary Murder Walk: we didn't know how
this would work but the Friends of Gorse Hall wanted to do something special
and it was suggested we use actors in conjunction with the walk, we all
met and worked out a theme to act out events that lead up to the murder
scene. We had rehearsals and finally It was the day. 1st November 2009,
going back to 1909 a dull November day 200 people set off, a man in costume
comes out of the pub and runs off, a young girl in Edwardian dress runs
down the drive screaming my uncle is being murdered, the crowd loved it.
The final scene on site at Gorse Hall was superb. 2 Boards & A Passion
really did make this event special. Thank you to all the actors for taking
part, well done.
The (Not So!) Jolly Roger "was entertaining, great
fun and most importantly engaged all pupils with interactive activities...
I would recommend the show to all primary schools"
"Kathryn and Colin were fantastic with our students.
They worked with professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm in a way that
inspired the students. Their patience and positivity resulted in some
fantastic work. We can’t wait to have them back!"
"You made all our AS and A level Performing Arts Acting
students feel positive about themselves and their exam work. You treated
them as professionals, you encouraged them and believed in them. As a
result they rose to the occasion and achieved some high grades in their
exam work. "
"I absolutely loved working with Colin and Kathryn!
I think we all did as a group. When they came to work with us, they fitted
right in with the dynamics of our group and understood us straight away.
They knew our strengths and weaknesses and worked positively with them
to create the fab piece of theatre we ended up with! It didn’t feel
like they were our teachers; they were two friends that just happened
to teach us. We had so many laughs, and we all really miss them. It was
obvious that they have so much experience, not only in the performing
arts industry, but with people our age; their creative input was at the
right amount, they didn’t tell us what to do just helped us along
perfectly. I never ever at one point with Colin and Catherine felt negatively
about them, not once, and I always looked forward to Performing Arts to
work with them. "
"Our GCSE Drama students had been working on devising
a piece of coursework and were stuck in a rut of creating very naturalistic
and unimaginative “ soap opera” style drama and were in desperate
need of inspiration.
thank you so much for teachin our group
"...and after five days of fun, games, music, dancing,
singing and acting we had to put it all to the test by inviting our friends
and family to do a show. It went brilliantly. I wish it was on EVERY SINGLE
WEEK."
"Colin, Jess and Kathryn all treated us as friends,
not children... they saw our talents and gave EVERYONE a chance to do
something on their own."
"I enjoyed doing '2 Boards & A Passion'. It was
really interesting and I made a lot of friends. Doing this drama group
was great and I loved everything.
The rescuers of ASFC performing arts drama! These two are
absolute stars and the show would not have gone on with out them. They
are amazing, thank you soooo much! |
