We bring Children’s Theatre and Theatre In Education
(T.I.E.) performances into primary schools. Our performances provide
an experience of the Arts for the children, and enhance their learning
across the curriculum, as the performances are clearly linked to learning
objectives for each Key Stage. |
 |
We have two set performances per term, one for Key Stage 1, and
one for Key Stage 2. We have devised these based on some of the Literacy
objectives for each term. |
 |
Each performance comes into school with a preparation pack, to inform
teachers as to which objectives we will be covering, in order for
them to be able to prepare the children for the performance and to
inform their follow-on planning. |
 |
Planning suggestions for follow-up work for each Year group within
the Key Stage are provided with each performance, in order for the
children to create detailed pieces of writing inspired by the performance,
and also by the workshops as part of their Literacy lessons following
on from our visit to your school. |
 |
We can create bespoke performances for your school if you have a
specific need in mind, for example, a particular issue that your school
improvement plan is focusing on, or if you would like a performance
aimed at a Nursery class. These can either be based on a curriculum
area, a specific theme, or can be purely story-based simply to give
the children experience of the Arts. |

 |
Each of our performances has a Key Stage appropriate
workshop which we can take with one class at a time to follow on from
the performances. |
 |
The workshops allow the children to use practical drama techniques
to enhance their understanding of the performances that they have
seen. |
 |
The children use our support to work independently and co-operatively
to create their own pieces of drama. |
 |
Through working together in our workshops, children have a chance
to improve their social skills, confidence and speaking and listening
skills through the use of drama. |

 |
We provide full day, half day or twilight INSET sessions
for teaching and support staff in schools, or for Headteachers to
disseminate to their staff. |
 |
These can be ‘chalk and talk’ giving practical ideas
to staff, workshop-based where staff have a chance to experience practical
drama techniques for themselves by having the opportunity to try them
out, or a combination of the two, based on your staff’s needs.
