Latest News - Winter Tour Announced

2 Boards & A Passion present Winter Song!

Winter Song is an enchanting new tale for children combining puppetry, humour and live music to create a magical piece of children’s theatre suitable for all primary aged children and their families.

It’s Winter again, Millie’s favourite time of year. But how will she react when the season that she has always loved becomes a Winter without end? A strange encounter with Sage, the Wood Elf, teaches Millie that humans have stopped caring about the Earth, and that the Winter Song which once heralded the end of Winter can no longer be heard. Without the song, the Spring has no way of knowing that it is time to return to the Earth, so Millie sets off on a quest to find the song, meeting an array of unusual, magical friends along the way. But is Millie’s strange adventure a fantasy, a dream, or a reality?

The show is aimed primarily at 5 to 11 year olds and 'kids at heart' of all ages! The show is a one act play, and runs for approximately 45 minutes with no interval.

“Tomb To Womb” is a unique piece of theatre which travels backwards through the decades, sharing with the audience life experiences which shape the main character’s personality.

Faced with losing control of her future, Margaret reflects back on her past. This often funny, sometimes moving one act play takes the audience on an emotional journey back through a selection of Margaret’s memories, enabling them to understand and relate to her.

The three-strong cast play Margaret and eighteen other significant characters in her life. All costume changes and scene transitions are played out in full view as an intrinsic part of the play. This ensures the audience’s constant involvement and a smooth journey through the sixty nine year time span of the piece.

Whether you enjoy stunning physical theatre or fast-paced emotional storylines, “Tomb To Womb” has something for everyone!

“Tomb To Womb” was written by, and stars, Kathryn Penton and Colin CGN Ward, founders of “2 Boards & A Passion” Theatre Company. Actress Helen Burke completes the trio in their Buxton and Edinburgh Fringe debuts. The play is directed and choreographed by award-winning Michael Ward.
